CG Good Correspondence Tournaments

Well, maybe it would be more accurate to say slightly improved. They still need a little reworking as the different naming conventions for the 1,2,3, and 6th World Correspondence Chess Championships (WCCC) show.

First, a link to the “reconditioned” PGN for all of <CG>’s correspondence tournaments in the <TI>:

One of the tournaments, the <1st WCCC (1950)> needed the nullified Viaud games partitioned out. In addition six stub games were added to allow a complete and accurate RR xtab to be generated for the main tournament. By now, this is all standard stuff.

Here then is also the usual listing with (tid,N_players,N_games,RR_ok, etc) for all the tournaments:

>>> pts(Corr)

   80020   15    93    105      0    1st World Correspondence Chess Championship (1950)  //        corr Wch1   (1950.05.01)
   80029   15   105    105      1    2nd World Correspondence Chess Championship (1956)  //   Correspondence   (1956.01.01)
   80040   10    44     45      0    3rd World Correspondence Chess Championship (1959)  //   Correspondence   (1959.02.01)
   80055   16   120    120      1    6th Correspondence World Championship Final (1968)  //        corr ICCF   (1968.??.??)
   39859    9    36     36      1        50th World Champions Jubilee Tournament (2001)  //        corr ICFF   (2001.07.01)
   80801   11    55     55      1                               Umansky Memorial (2011)  //             ICCF   (2011.09.30)

It’s a little unfortunate that the 1968 tournament’s exact start date still hasn’t been determined (especially considering that the earlier tournaments’ data was able to be located).
