Putting together an entire chess tournament from first sources is difficult work. Luckily, I’ve had a partner in the endeavor, willing to assume a large share of the work. Let me begin by thanking <Pawn and Two> for his valuable contributions.

The primary sources I used were Brooklyn Chess Club Chronicle, BCM, and DSZ, as well as Pollock’s <Memories>, and Davies’ and Harding’s books on Lipschutz and Blackburne, respectively. Several games were still missing, but Gillam’s tournament book provided the score, thanks to <Pawn and Two>. Despite all these efforts, there remain ~20 games whose scores may never be known. Luckily, the historical record allows the pairings / colors / results for all these games to be known.

This allows an exact and accurate assembly of all the games to be made. The missing games are filled in with “stubs“, games whose PGN headers accurately record the players, round, date etc. Additionally, the BCM of the era allows more to be known about three games, i.e. a position and at least one, and sometimes several moves. I label such games “fragments“.

A technical note – missing stubs are identified by having 0 moves. Fragments have moves, and an initial setup FEN. All stubs and fragments have a PGN tag, “Stub“, whose presence can be used for filtering with database programs like Chessbase and SCID.

Here is a list of all the games with the source used:

The fragment games are highlighted in orange. They number 3, together with 19 completely missing games, that makes a total of 22 games from the tournament lacking complete movelists (i.e. scores, short for scoresheet).

Of the found games, I would eventually like to learn a primary (i.e. contemporaneous) source for all of the Gillam fill-in’s that <P2> so kindly provided, both to me, and to <CG>:
