   (1)  This tournament was hastily organized upon the finish of the London (1886) BCA tournament. Originally 17-players agreed to
play, but before the rules were finalized. Blackburne, Mackenzie and Mason all withdrew. Several other players elected to play
in the minor tournaments instead. That left 11-players at tournament start, but Skipworth withdrew (illness(?)) after losing his R2,
with a losing position in his adjourned R1 game.  See Forster’s Burn excerpt: http://www.chesshistory.com/burn/burn_ch8.html
   (2)  CPC v10 (1886.07.14) p1/8.
   (3)  Brilliancy Prize was donated by F.H. Lewis.
   (4)  “The Book of the Counties’ Chess Association” A.B. Skipworth (1886-)  96pp (Not all games are included/complete).

<Pawn and Two> provided tremendous help in taming this tournament, which besides 4 games from <CG> and 7 from <ChessBase> was entirely reconstructed from contemporaneous reporting, plus a handful of games from Gillam – Schallopp and Gillam – Nottingham (1886).
