Where to from here? More Calli tournaments… 1899-1923

The following is my review of those tournaments, from 1899-1923, with tournament books available online, using <Calli>’s reference.  The year 1899 is chosen to take up where Reichhelm finished, and 1923 marks the last entry in <Calli>’s list.

The grading of the tournaments is merely indicative, and in itself needs improvement since it was more impressionistic and not as systematic as it should have been. On the other hand, it tries to be accurate in reviewing the footnoting and referencing grading of the <CG> tournaments. And also, the attribution of the tournament authors.

CG #194 - http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chess.pl?tid=80765

TB: http://hdl.handle.net/2027/njp.32101050408259

http://hdl.handle.net/2027/njp.32101050408077?urlappend=%3Bseq=7

Comments: <Tabanus> good writeup, with mention of TB (no link to
online version though). A list of refs is included, but no
fn's. Good treatment, but not up to standard being applied
to <Manchester (1890)>.

Comments: <suenteus> with minimal treatment (does include bracket dates).
Given one paragraph intro, it's good. No fn's/refs/TB/etc.
Needs elaboration, but adequate.

1921 Brno

1923 Karlsbad

by Bernhard Kagan

CG #216 - http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chess.pl?tid=79290

TB: http://hdl.handle.net/2027/njp.32101067932473?urlappend=%3Bseq=13

Comments: <suenteus> with help from <Benzol>. There are fn's, but they're
rudimentary (wiki, some hotel link?). So, I think a redo would
be useful, with mention of the TB and addition of bracket dates
obvious starts.
