Tal // Skuja games in RUSbase

(First, I’m adopting <crawfb5>‘s convention of denoting either-color pairing with // in this post’s title)

Next, there are a couple of issues in <RUSbase> concerning players named Skuja, or Скуя. Unfortunately, it’s likely that the name gets mistranslated to Skuya (or perhaps that is the better translation, and the original westernization of the name is wrong – but now the convention).

Regardless, here is a listing of all games in my version of <RUSbase> where Tal faced with Skuja or Skuya:

There is first of all the question of Skuja vs Skuya (j vs y). Next, there is the question of the double-pairing in the Riga (1965) tournament. This is certainly due to the fact that there are other Skuja‘s:

Skuja, Roberts -- http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessplayer?pid=25958 (dob 1910)
Skuja, Harijs -- http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessplayer?pid=151126 (dob 1930)
Skuja, Aivars -- http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessplayer?pid=51497 (dob 1943)

All three of them could have played in the 1965 tournament. Pick two(*).

According to the wise and experienced <PmD>(*), and <CG>, it’s Harijs. No matter what, <RUSbase> needs some adjustment.

(*) <PmD> cites Di Felice as saying both Harijs and Roberts played Riga (1965), and not Aivars.
